GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) and Praeparatio e.V. have initiated a joint training program for Ukrainian specialists in the field of orthopaedic footwear technology in 2025.
The training took place at the Unbroken Center in Lviv - one of Ukraine's leading rehabilitation centers, which helps patients regain mobility and independence after injuries.
This project impressively demonstrated the value of combining traditional craftsmanship with digital modeling technologies. The hybrid approach increases precision, individualization and comfort - and forms the basis for a new generation of modern orthopaedic technicians.
The knowledge gained is to be incorporated into the KNUTD curricula in order to ensure this sustainable transfer of knowledge in the long term.
